Macduff Aquarium

The last two weeks have been very restful. I’ve been hiding out in one of my favourite places – my parent’s holiday home in Aberdeenshire. It’s in a beautiful little fishing village called Gardenstown. The house sits on the hillside and the view for the back garden is just breath taking.

I’ve been staying here with my mum who has been helping me through this difficult time. I’m not really ready to say anything more about it yet but will post about it soon. Not to worry, however, it’s nothing serious or life threatening!

So, today we took Millie to the nearby aquarium. I love to visit every time I come up here but this was Millie’s first trip (well, not actually her first but she was too young to take it in) and she just loved it!

We picked the best day of the week for out trip and managed to see both the diver’s feeding the fish in the tank and the second feeding time in an open tank. It was great! Millie was running here and there, watching the fish, poking the fish and shouting in excitement. She really gets into things! She was asking the diver who was feeding the fish if she could get into the tank and help.

I spent some time sitting in front of the largest tank just watching the fish go by. They do say that fish are very relaxing to watch and after today I’d have to agree. There is something very soothing about watching the water, ebbing and flowing, the seaweed waving back and forth, with the fishes just bobbing along.

On the way home we got some fish and chips… well, not actually fish and chips but white pudding and chips. I’m not kidding when I say that the white puddings up here are like no other! So, in about an hours time (after Millie has gone to bed) I shall tuck into my chips and watch some NCIS.

I hope you had a good weekend and it’s nice to be back.
